With custom single use packaging, you can control packaging costs without making the product look cheap. We work with your budget to find a practical solution, so you can put more money into advertising, hiring, or developing new products and flavors—and compete more confidently with larger brands.

Questions About
Custom Sachet Packaging?
Choosing sachet packaging usually comes down to more than size and price. Material structure, filling equipment, printing, opening features and product protection all need to work together.
We have answered some of the questions buyers ask most often before ordering samples or starting bulk production.
01 What is the best sachet format for a single-use product? +
It depends on the product, fill volume and how customers will use it. A standard 3-side seal pouch works well for many powders, liquids and samples, while a stick pack can be a better fit for narrow, measured portions. For Single Use Packaging, we normally look at the product and filling method first rather than choosing a format simply because it is popular.
02 Can you make the sachet match our existing brand packaging? +
Yes. You can provide your existing artwork, brand colors or a physical packaging reference. We can review the artwork, print requirements and finish before production. With Custom Printed Pouches, details such as color, logo position, text size and finish are checked together so the sachet looks consistent with the rest of your product line.
03 How do you reduce color differences between samples and bulk orders? +
Color consistency starts with the approved artwork and printing specifications. We review the color requirements before production and keep the approved reference for the bulk run. For brands using Food Packaging Bags across multiple products, this helps reduce noticeable differences between different production batches.
04 Can you add tear notches, clear windows or other functional features? +
Yes, depending on the pouch structure and product requirements. Tear notches can make opening easier, while clear windows can let customers see the product inside. For products such as creams, serums and liquid samples, we can also discuss suitable opening and pouch options for Liquid Sample Pouches.
05 What if the sachet needs to work with a specific filling machine? +
This is something we prefer to confirm before production. If you already have a filling machine, send us the machine model, pouch dimensions or roll-film requirements if available. For Sachet Film Packaging, factors such as film width, seal area, repeat length and machine direction can affect whether the packaging runs smoothly.
06 Would you recommend foil or a clear film structure? +
Neither is automatically better. Foil-based structures can provide stronger protection against light, oxygen and moisture, while clear films are useful when product visibility matters. For High Barrier Sachet Packaging, we normally choose the structure according to shelf life, product sensitivity and storage conditions.
07 Is a sachet more suitable than a small bottle for a trial product? +
For single-use samples, sachets can reduce packaging weight and shipping space compared with small rigid containers. Bottles may still make more sense when customers need repeated use or a larger quantity. For Trial Pouch Packaging, the main decision usually comes down to dosage, product format and how the sample will be distributed.
08 Can you help me choose the material if I am not sure what I need? +
Absolutely. You do not need to know the exact film structure before contacting us. Tell us what the product is, approximate fill weight, expected shelf life and how it will be filled. For Wellness Product Packaging, we can then compare suitable structures based on protection, appearance, usability and cost.
09 How can I reduce the risk before placing a large order? +
The safest approach is to confirm the important details before committing to the full quantity. A physical sample can help you check size, print, sealing, opening and overall appearance. With Wholesale Sachet Packaging, it is also useful to confirm the final specifications and approved artwork before bulk production starts.
10 What should I expect from your team after sending my packaging requirements? +
We will first review the product, size, material, printing and functional requirements rather than sending you a generic quote. As a Custom Packaging Manufacturer, we can also help identify details that may affect production, filling or final cost, so you have a clearer specification before moving forward.
The Ultimate Guide to Custom Sachet Packaging Samples Wholesale
Packaging Insight | Manufacturing Experience | Brand Solutions
Your customer may only spend a few seconds with a sample pouch, but those few seconds can tell them a lot. Is it easy to tear open? Does the pouch feel sturdy? Does the product arrive in good condition? Does the packaging look like it belongs to the brand?
That’s why we’ve put together the guide below. Keep reading to see what to check when choosing Custom Sachet Packaging. Hopefully, it will answer some of the questions you’re working through. And if you’d rather talk it over directly, you can always get in touch with our packaging team.
What Is a Sachet
A sachet is a small, sealed flexible pouch made for a single serving or a small amount of product. Most sachets have a simple, flat appearance with printed film on the front and back, sealed edges, and a tear notch or easy-open area at the top. Some formats are narrow and long, while others are wider and closer to a small rectangular sample pouch.
What Types of Sachets Are Available for Single-Serve Packaging?
There’s more than one way to make a sachet. The right format usually comes down to the product, the amount you need to fill, and how customers will open and use it. For most brands, these are the main sachet styles to consider.
Standard 3-Side or 4-Side Seal Sachets
This is the flat sachet most people are familiar with. It’s commonly used for skincare samples, food products, supplements, and other single-use packs. A 3-side seal sachet is sealed along three edges, while a 4-side seal has seals around all four sides. Both are compact and easy to include in sample kits, mailers, or promotional packs.
Strip Sachets
Strip sachets connect several small sachets in a row, with perforated lines between them. That lets customers tear off one sachet at a time without opening the whole strip. They’re often used for coffee, powders, supplements, and other single-dose products sold as multipacks.
Twin or Multi-Compartment Sachets
Need to pack two products together? Twin sachets keep two connected portions in one pack. They work well for combinations such as shampoo and conditioner, two-step skincare products, or other products meant to be used together. Additional compartments can be considered if the application requires them.
Shaped or Custom-Size Sachets
A standard rectangle isn’t always the best fit. The sachet can be made in a custom shape or adjusted to suit the product and the way it will be presented. This is useful when the packaging needs to fit into a particular sample kit or when you want a less conventional look without making the pouch unnecessarily large.
Bag-in-Bag Packaging
Some products need an extra layer of protection. With this format, the filled inner pouch is placed inside a second pouch, creating another layer between the product and the outside environment. It can be considered for sensitive products or applications where additional protection is needed.
When choosing custom sachet packaging, it’s usually better to start with the product rather than the pouch style. Tell us what you’re packing, roughly how much goes into each sachet, and how the samples will be distributed or used. From there, we can help narrow down the formats that make sense for your order.
What Materials Are Commonly Used for Sachet Packaging
| Material | Suitable For | Main Benefits | Things to Consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plastic Film | Powders, liquids, sauces, coffee, supplements, and other single-use products | Good printability, reliable heat sealing, and flexible options for strength and barrier protection | More layers can increase cost, so a high-barrier structure isn't necessary for every product |
| Paper-Based Film | Sugar, salt, seasonings, dry powders, and similar products | Gives the pouch a more natural paper look and can work well for brands that want less of a plastic appearance | Products that need strong moisture or oxygen protection may require additional barrier layers |
| Mylar® / Polyester Film | Coffee, tea, powders, and products that need added barrier protection | Provides good strength and barrier performance when used as part of the right laminated structure | Mylar® refers to a polyester film, not the complete pouch structure, so the other layers still matter |
| Multi-Layer Laminated Film | Products with higher moisture, oxygen, or light protection requirements | Different layers can be combined to balance printing, strength, sealing, and product protection | Aluminum foil and additional layers can increase packaging costs |
For sachet packaging, the best structure isn't necessarily the one with the most layers. We usually look at the product, fill weight or volume, filling method, shelf-life requirements, and shipping conditions first. That helps us recommend a practical material structure without adding unnecessary cost.
What Are the Main Advantages and Limitations of Sachet Packaging?
For brands considering sachets, the real question isn't just whether they're convenient. It’s whether the format fits the product, filling process, distribution method, and target cost. When it does, sachets can use less packaging material, make single-use portions easier to handle, and give customers a simple way to try a product before buying the full-size version.
Lower Packaging and Shipping Costs
Sachets use relatively little material and take up less space than bottles or rigid containers. That can make a difference when you're producing thousands of samples or shipping larger quantities. They also work well with automated filling and sealing, which can help keep labor and production costs under control as order volumes grow.

Easy Single-Use Portions
For coffee, honey, sauces, supplements, skincare, and similar products, a pre-measured portion is often easier for customers to use. There's less measuring and less mess. It can also be a practical way to introduce a new flavor, formula, or product before asking customers to buy a regular-size pack.
Useful Across Different Product Types
Sachets aren't limited to dry powders. Depending on the product and film structure, they can also be made for liquids, gels, creams, granules, and other products. That makes them useful for sample programs, hospitality packs, foodservice, subscription boxes, and product launches.
Simple to Store and Carry
Flat sachets are light and take up very little room. They can go into sample kits, cartons, mailers, or retail displays without adding much bulk. For brands that send samples by mail, that's useful because package size and weight both affect shipping costs.
Good for Branding and Sampling
The pouch surface can be printed with your logo, product details, instructions, or campaign artwork. Different finishes and opening features can also be considered based on how the product will be used.
For brands testing a new product, Custom Sachet Packaging Wholesale can be a practical way to start with a sampling run and move into larger production later, without completely changing the packaging format.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
There are a couple of trade-offs. Most sachets are made for one-time use, so once they're opened, they're not ideal for products that need to be used over several days. If a customer only needs a small amount but the sachet contains more than one serving, some product may also be left unused.
That's why we wouldn't recommend making the pouch as small as possible just to save material. The fill amount, how the customer uses the product, and whether it needs to be resealable all matter.
If the product isn't really suited to a single-use format, a small zipper pouch or another flexible packaging option may make more sense.
What Features Can Be Added to Sachet Packaging
Sachets can be customized with different features depending on how the product will be filled, opened, stored, and displayed. You don't need to add everything—just the features that make sense for the product.

Tear Notch & Laser Cut: Makes the pouch easier to open with a clean, controlled tear. Micro-perforations can also be used when air release is needed.
Zippers: Single or double-track zippers work well for products that need to be opened and closed more than once. Child-resistant options are available for suitable applications.
-
Spouts: Useful for liquids, gels, and sauces. Corner, center, and round spouts can be selected based on the product.
Hang Holes: Round and euro holes make retail display easier, especially for hanging products on store hooks.
Venting: Perforation or venting features can help release trapped air during filling without unnecessarily affecting the pouch structure.
Handles & Rounded Corners: Die-cut handles make larger bags easier to carry, while rounded corners give the pack a softer feel.
Custom Printing & Finishes: CMYK, PMS, spot colors, matte, gloss, and Spot UV can be used to match the brand design.
For single-use sachet bags, a simple tear notch may be all you need. If the product is liquid or needs repeated access, a spout or zipper may make much more sense.
3-Side Seal or 4-Side Seal Sachet: Which Is Better?
Neither is automatically better. It depends on the product, fill volume, and how you want the sample to look and perform.
3-side seal sachets are a common choice for flat samples. They’re simple, compact, and usually give you more usable space for the same overall size. They work well for skincare samples, powders, supplements, coffee, and other single-use products.
4-side seal sachets have sealed edges on all four sides, giving the pouch a more defined shape and a slightly different presentation. They can be a good fit when you want a more structured-looking sample or need the extra sealing area.
For sample sachet packaging, we'd usually choose the format based on the product first. If keeping the pack simple and cost-conscious is the priority, 3-side seal is often the practical option. If appearance, structure, or a particular filling requirement matters more, 4-side seal may be worth considering.
How Are Sachets Made
Once your artwork and specifications are approved, production moves through several stages. Each one affects the final pouch, so we don't simply wait until the end to check the finished bags.
Printing → Lamination → Curing → Slitting → Pouch Making → Accessory Installation → Inspection
Printing — Your artwork is printed onto the film. We check color, text, and print position during production, especially when your brand colors need to stay close to the approved artwork.
Lamination — The printed film is bonded with the other material layers. The structure is chosen around the product, with sealing and barrier needs considered from the start.
Curing — The laminated film is given time to bond properly before moving to the next stage.
Slitting — Large film rolls are cut to the right width for pouch production.
Pouch Making — The film is formed and heat-sealed into the agreed size and format. This is especially important when the sachets will run on an automatic filling machine, where pouch size and seal position need to stay consistent.
Accessory Installation — Spouts, zippers, hang holes, tear features, or other requested options are added where needed.
Inspection — Before packing, the finished sachets are checked for print quality, dimensions, sealing, appearance, and other agreed specifications.
For sachet bag manufacturing, small details can make a big difference. If you have a specific filling machine, size requirement, tear opening, or color standard, we prefer to know about it before production starts. That gives us a chance to check the details early, rather than finding a problem after the bags are already made.
Size & Capacity Reference
The table below provides general size and capacity references for common sachet packaging formats. These are for reference only. Actual capacity can vary depending on the product type, density, filling method, film structure, sealing area, and required headspace.
